About
Based in downtown Atlanta, GA, the Center for International Media Education (CIME) is a nexus for international partnerships devoted to teaching, research, and service in the field of journalism.
Since 1997, CIME has been cooperating with partner institutions in the United States and overseas to assist with strengthening journalism, journalism education, and the efforts of nongovernmental organizations. The Center has conducted campus-based World Media Forums, international student and faculty exchanges, student internships, and workshops for faculty, students, media professionals, and NGOs.
The Center’s network in the Middle East, North Africa and Asia includes university faculties, students, media professionals, and NGOs. CIME is a co-founder of the Arab-U.S. Association for Communication Educators (AUSACE), and co-sponsors AUSACE’s international conferences and workshops.
Research activities include sponsorship of multi-national collaborative studies in journalism professionalism and academic excellence, and the hosting of Fulbright and other research fellows. The Center publishes two journals, the peer-reviewed Journal of Middle East Media and the refereed Atlanta Review of Journalism History.
